There are some people involved whose tasks will include the making of a speech which brings additional worries about the wedding day. Making a father of the bride speech should be the most proud moment you have ever felt in your life and it can be if you are organized and well prepared.

Planning and preparation are the keys to being able to enjoy the experience and make your daughter proud. A rubbish wedding speech will please no-one so start early and begin working on it a week or two before the day of the wedding.

List all the different points you feel are important parts that should be in a father of the bride speech you’ll be proud of. You can start out be offering a welcome to your guests by express how pleased you are to be able to share with them this celebration of the wedding of your daughter and her new husband.

Next you can mention a few interesting moments of your daughter’s life with you though you should avoid the temptation to say things she might find embarrassing. These little anecdotes should be short and not too serious because your purpose is to entertain with amusing stories for everyone so they can smile and be happy for your daughter.

There is no harm in saying what your daughter has achieved that made you proud of her and say you feel sure she will make her new husband just as proud. Make notes about all these points and then expand each into a few sentences about all of the things you made a note of on the list you made.

After writing the speech it is important that you say it out loud to yourself and change anything that you found difficult to explain clearly or if there is just something you don’t feel right about. Next you should read it all out loud once again and continue to do this over and over until you feel confident with this father of the bride speech you will make.
